LICENSING BILL

REFORM PARTY DIFFERENCES. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 9. Tn reply to the statements that have been published as to what took place at a deputation of members to the Government on Monday last regarding the Licensing Bill, the Prime Minister states that he had said he could raise no objection to a private member bringing down a Bill, but that he would have to ascertain whether the forms of the House would permit that course to be followed. As to the request that a Minister of rhe Crown would bring down a Bill, Mr Coated said he had stated that that was a matter upon which he was unable to answer at the moment, but he would consider it. In any case, he had said he thought it was a time for calm thinking, and it might be necessary for him to call the Party together in order to discuss the situation.
