SYDNEY, November 25.

At Canberra, after sitting all night on Wednesday, the House of Representatives re-assembled in discussion of the Budget, the Opposition putting up a big stonewall throughout, marked by violent rowdyism, innumerable amendments and points of order, being squashed by the use of the “gag.” Mr Bruce announced that the sitting ( would continue tii ten o’clock to-night to force the Budget through.

In the Senate, Sir Geo. Pearce said, in reply to a question, that Mr. Bruce had not seen the Press report that a joint committee of the two Houses of the New Zealand Parliament had recommended negotiations with the Commonwealth Government for the establishment of a shipping service between the southern ports of New Zealand and Australia. Any representations made by the New Zealand Government would, of course, be given consideration. LATER. The amendment by Mr Charlton to reduce the Budget by £1 was defeated by 33 votes to 17. The estimates were then passed.
