CORDITE EXPLOSION
NAVAL FACTORY TRAGEDY. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, September 11. A mysterious explosion at the naval cordite factory, Holten Heath, killed three employees. A steel pipe, conveying acetone vapour exploded scattering steel fragments, mutilating the victims standing near. The fire spread to the building. Seventy other workmen dashed out and escaped. The fire destroyed. the building in a few minutes. Every window and other portions of the extensive factory were shattered.
