SUNDAYS AND AFTER HOURS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 22. A fine of £25 with costs, was imposed by Mr Page, S.M., on Henry Barr Duncan, who admitted sly-grog selling in a shop at Newtown. The police stated that the sales were chiefly after hours, and on Sundays. ASHBURTON CONVICTION. ASHBURTON, July 22. At the Police Court, Gideon Scott, charged with having sold liquor in a no-license area, and also with having kept liquor for sale, was convicted and sentenced to three months’ imprisonment for keeping liquor, the police withdrawing the first charge. He had eight previous convictions.
