Mrs E. Hanrahan, who has been Visiting her sister, Mrs Kim Williams, returns to-morrow to Christchurch. .Mr C. A. Legg, of the railway office staff, who has been away on holiday, resumed duty to-day. The death is announced from London of Lord Abinger. He was born in 1876. A cablegram from Rome stated that Chevalier Marconi was civilly married to Signorina Bezziscali. Miss Lily Armstrong, who has been on a visit to the Coast, as the guest of her mother and Mrs W. Hill, will return to Auckland to-morrow. Mr William Dunn, of Kopara, Ahaura, who. has been on a holiday trip to Australia, returned to the West Coast on Saturday. Mrs J. Lythgoe, who has been spending several weeks in Christchurch, returned to Greymouth on Saturday. Mr E. Gallagher, railway signalling engineer, arrived on Saturday to inspect the new electric flood light towers, which are being erected on the Greymouth wharf. Mr and Mrs W. R. Williams of Maungaturoto, arrived by Saturday’s express on a visit to his parents, Mr and Mrs R. J. Williams, Puketahi Street. Mr B. Older, Chief Electrical Engineer, Grey Power Board, accompanied by Mrs Older, will leave to-mor-row for Christchurch, en route to Wellington and Picton, on holiday leave. The deaths are announced from London of Lord Swaythling, head of the banking firm of Samuel Montagu and Company, aged 58, and William Attewell, Notts cricketer, aged 66. Included in the guests, at the Albion Hotel are: Messrs C. Skoglund, N. Black, P. McKay, P. N. Davey, G. Collins, J. P. Donnelly (Christchurch), A. B. Hogg (Wellington). A London cablegram stated that authoritative circles deny a Madrid report that the Prince of Wales is affianced to the Spanish Princess, Beatrice. The Copenhagen newspaper “Ensdeabladit” announces that the Danish CroWn Prince is affianced to the Belgian Princess, Marie Jose. The funeral of the late Mr George Lemon which left his late residence Pitt Street, Runanga, yesterday afternoon, was largely attended. Messrs F. Heslin, T. Bowes, H. Munson and W. Brown, members of the Runanga Bowling Club, of which deceased was a member, acted as pall bearers. Rev. Bell, read the burial service at the graveside.
