MEETINGS

NELSON LAND BOARD

A meeting of the Nelson Land Board was held on Thursday; present: Mr A. F. Waters (Commissioner of Crown Lands). Chairman, and Messrs W. C. Mirfin, R. Win. and G. MacMahon. Leave of absence from this meeting was granted to Mr R. Patterson.

Application to Transfer. —Town of Westport, area 1 rood, D. Redfearn to Alfred Ernest Agent.—Approved. Town of Westport, area 1 rood. Superintendent State Advances in pursuance. of power of sale under mortgage from Wm. Mouat (deceased), to D. Redfearn. —Approved. Block 111 and 130 Sq. 5, Tadmor S.D.. area 430 acres 7pchs, L. S. Fawcet to W. J. Fawcet. —Approved.

Application for Land. —Sections 41 and 43, Block XIV. Pakawau S.D., Sections 44 and 45. Block I. Waitapu S.D.. and Crown Land, area approximately 40 acres. —Resolved to offer for sale at. auction for cash at. an upset price of 10/- per acre.

Lands to be opened.—Section 25. Block VIII, Waitapu S.D., area 932 acres. Unimproved value 6/- per acre. —Resolved to take no action as to re-offering meantime.

Miscellaneous. —The Buller County Council forwarded proposals for the expenditure of Thirds etc., amounting to £B7/4/8 and accrued to 31st March 1927. —Approved. The Inangahua. County Council forwarded proposals for the .expenditure of Thirds accrued to 31/3/27.—Resolved to approve of the Thirds from Sections 11. 163. and 164. Block XIII Reefton, and Sections 15 and .16, Block IV, Mawheraiti being applied as ordinary revenue of the District, in terms of Section 140 of the Land Act, 1924, also to approve of the expenditure of the remaining thirds on the schedule in terms of the Council’s proposals. In addition to the above, the Land Board dealt with three applications to transfer, three applications for land, one application for renewal ol pastoral license, one lands to be opened, 17 miscellaneous, 2 applications for exemption from residence. 2 applications for extension of time in which to effect improvements, 1 application for exemption from residence and extension of time in which to effect improvements,! application for exemption from residence, 2 applications for reduction of improvement requirements, 5 forfeitures. 5 applications surrender , 1 cancellation, 2 applications for advances and 25 applications for relief under the provisions of the Deteriorated Lands Act, 1925..
