The Marchioness of Aberdeen, who presided at a Salvation Army function at Aberdeen related how years ago when visiting New Zealand, a Salvation Army Major 'proposed marriage. She said: “I prowling in a Salvation barracks on Sunday morning and got talking to a Major about the Army s work. He said that he had great difficulty in getting a life partner to assist him in his work. I had the greatest difficulty in assuring him that I was not qualified for the position, having a husband and family.-M offered to introduce my husband, but I never saw the Major any more.”
