Mrs J. B. Berti. tE local secretary Trinity College Associate Board of Music has been advised that the examiner this year will be Mr Adolph Mann, A.R.C.M., who will arrive on the West Coast during July to con. duct the musical examinations in the various centres. During the last few days, Mr Cyril Burton, organiser of the Wesleyan Young Men’s Bible Class Union, has been in Reefton, making preparations for the annual West poast Bible Class camp, which it is proposed to hold this year at Mr Thos. Watson’s farm and will be attended by representatives from the West Coast organisations. The Bible Class girls go into camp in the old hotel at Crushington at the same time. Mrs Thos. Dellaca left for Auckland on holiday by Tuesday morning’s overland train. Mr D. McKane, Secretary Inangahua Miners’ Union is visiting Wellington as a delegate to the Labour Conference. During his absence Mr McGregor is acting secretary.

At a meeting of the Inangahua Trotting Club’s Committee it was decided to accede to the Reefton Jockey Club’s request to participate in the cost of erecting sheep-proof fencing around the oval to the extent of onethird of the cost. Three were also proposed for membership. The Inangahua County Council has received a reply from the Hon. K. S. Williams, Minister for Public Works, who states that lie cannot see his way clear to make a grant fbr flood damages to the Oweka suspension bridge, as the amount is under £5O, and he does not consider it flood darinage, and this should be repaired out of ordinary maintenance. A letter has also been received from Mr R. P. Hudson, M.P., for the district stating that the Minister of Public Works has, after consideration of the matter with his officers, decided upon giving a free grant of £lOO tor the river erosion at Rosstown.
