Orr (Chairman of the P.W. Committee) drew the Council’s attention to the serious state of tne town’s water supply, as revealed by the overseer’s report. The time occupied in repairing pipes during the first three week of February was 168 hours, and the leaks were occurring all over the town. He considered there was faulty inspection when the pipes were being made. The Council would have to face the question of new pipes very shortly. The Mayor concurred in Cr. Orr’s remarks. The town would have to face the expense of a new loan shortly for the water supply, but he thought the ratepayers would see the urgency of the work and would agree to it. Crs.
