After writing off £lO,OOO on the premises account, the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company has a'divisible balance of £135,640. The | staff benevolent fund was paid £lO,OOO and-the amount brought forward is £45,286. The report says that the extension of the business, esnecially the Au Aralian, . demands additional capital. The directors propose (o issue, half a million GJ per cent, cumulative, second preference, £1 shares at par.
