DRAIN PIPE AS BANK. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, November 26. Recently the/sum of £1470 was found in an old shed and in a hut on the property of Steven Fenwick, an old man, and a bachelor, of Prebbleton. The discovery was made by a young man named Middleton, who lives nearby. While he was dismantling an old shed on Mr Fenwick’s property, Middleton came on a drainpipe. He gave it a tap, and some silver began to trickle out. There were also lots of banknotes in the pipe. When the •hoard was counted, it amounted to £l4OO. Later, a search was made in the hut on Mr Fenwick's property, and a further £72 was found hidden in tins. The owner had forgotten about the money.
