OUTBREAKS AT MARTON. . FAMILY’S NARROW ESCAPE (Per Press Association.) 1 "■■■■■ MARTON, Nov. 27. i ’ Fire at Marton Junction destroyed; a dwelling occupied by J. W. Neale, borough employee. The husband was absent at the time. The mother and three children were asleep. A young girl awoke and found the house in flames. She roused her mother and the others, Who made a hasty exit, saving nothing. They were very fortunate in escaping as only the shell of the house remains. The brigade smartly saved two adjoining houses. While the brigade was at Noale’s an outbreak was discovered in an empty shop in the main thoroughfare at Marton. When the brigade arrived at the latter place, the flames had been subdued by residents. The circumstances. of the latter fire were very suspicious, as the shop' has been unused for some time. Only slight damage was done. PALMERSTON SERIES. PALMERSTON N., Nov. 27. The fire brigade was called out to minor outbreaks of fire at 9.15 last night and at 1.20 this morning, making' the total fftr this month fifteen. The total damage’' was not great. The number tfhis month equals the total in September, October and November last year. COTTAGE TRAGEDY. SYDNEY, Nov. 27. Police investigation into the deaths of■ the Milton family at Tenterfield, show that the heads of the wife and three children had been badly battered with some blunt instrument. There was a bullet wound in Milton’s head. The police discovered that on Wednesday, Milton interviewed a local solicitor regarding a matter that had been the cause of some domestic trouble.
