ELECTION PREPARATIONS. ;Australian and N.Z. Cable Association) MELBOURNE, November 26. The efforts to make arrangements which would enable, the Government to carry on have failed. It is authoratatively stated that Messrs Gilles and Goodin tendered to the Secretary of the Party their resignations as members of that party. Mr. Loughlin definitely stated that he will not go back on his word. There must be an appeal to the country within four months. ‘ Members of the Labour Party declared that they are preparing for an election. They did not want to be caught at the last moment. Most members on all sides have chosen the electorates tney intend to contest under the single seat scheme. VICTORIAN PARLIAMENT. MELBOURNE, Nov. 26. The Assembly, amid scenes of great excitement, agreed to a fresh re-divi-sion of electoral boundaries, on the casting vote of the Speaker. A member of the Labour Opposition, chagrined at the prospect of a Ministerial victory, completly discarded the dignity traditionally associated with Parliamentary procedure, and made grossly insulting remarks to the Ministers and the Speaker.
