Since lie beagn to take an active interest in light harness racing, Mr. J. McKenzie, of Wellington, has earned considerable distinction. In addition to stepping out and purchasing the Canterbury-bred horses Acron, Great Bingen and Peter Swift, Mr. McKenzie visited America, where he secured Silk Thread. Frisco Beau and Real the Great. With the six horses mentioned, he has enjoyed big success, every one being a tribute to the livery they

carry. Now come further additions to his fine team, in the shape of two American horses, which arrived at Lyttelton by the Manuka from Australia on Saturday. They are the maiden two-year-eld free-legged pacer Stopfast, by Trampfast dam, and the apparent

three-year-old maiden trotter Trampcrisp, who also had a Trampfast dam. These horses arrived in Australia from America in January last, and have since been purchased by Mr. McKenzie. Thev will go into D. Withers’ stable at Islington.
