TWO BANKRUPTS

LONDON, June 17.
Mr. E. Ashmead Bartlett (ex-M.P.) against whom a receiving order was issued at the instance of moneylenders, estimates his debts at £lO,OOO. He attributes his position to extravagance, heavy interest on borrowed money, and the cost of fighting elections. It is revealed that when he was engaged as a correspondent, he was paid £2OOO yearly.
FIELD MARSHAL'S SON.
LONDON, June 17
Captain Thomas Plumer, son of Field Marshal Plumer,. has been examined in bankruptcy. His liabilities are £1340. His only assets were a pair of cuff-links, valued at fifty shillings. The chief cause of his bankruptcy was a prosecution for being drunk while in charge of a motor car. The case itself was dismissed, but it cost him £ 1000.
Debts of a former bankruptcy of his were paid in full by his selling his lite interest in his father’s grant from .lie nation.
