Mr and Mrs L Chapman left lor Culverden by to-day’s express. Sir A. Ridsdale, of Westport, left for Dunedin this morning. Mr W. Spindeler left on his return to Christchurch this morning. Rev. Brother Fergus left on return to Auckland to-day. Sir and Sirs A. Stenhouse left on return to Christchurch by to-day’s express. Mr J. Laing left for Dunedin this morning, on holiday . Mr J. Guy left for Dunedin this imorning, on holiday. Sir J. E. Williams left for Christchurch and Wellington, by to-day’s express. Sir Len. SlcGlashan left for Dunedin. to-day and will be absent lor about a week. Mr and Mrs P. J. McLean left for Christchurch to-day. The former will return on Slonday next. Sir T. Scott, manager for Beath and Co., left for Christchurch this morning. He will return next week. Sister Maloney, Slatron of the Greymouth Old People’s Home, left for Christchurch to-day on holiday. Miss Slaisie Slacandrew, who has been the fcuest of Sirs Stan. White, left on return to Christchurch to-day. Mrs E. Sheedy and her mother, Sirs J. O’Slalley, returned bo Christchurch to-day after visiting Kumara.
Sir J. Robertson left for Christchurch by this morning’s express, and will return to .Greymouth on Saturday.
Dr. Wil], senr., left on return toßangiora by to-day’s express. Dr. Will, junr., .was also a passenger, bound for Little River.
Sirs W. I<. Kettle and Sliss V. Kettle left this morning, en route to Dunedin. They will return to Greymouth in about three weeks.
A' London cablegram stated that Admiral Pakenham had retired Sir'Roger Keyes had been promoted as "admiral.
Mr F. J. Earle, who is relinquishing the managing-editorship of the New Zealand “Truth” on the completion (of his four years’ engagement, is leaving' on an extended holiday tour. Chief P.O. Wheatley, of H,M.S. “Sydney,” who has been visiting relatives in Greymouth, returned this morning to Wellington to rejoin his ship. 7 Mr Joseph Packer, who has been a member of the Locomotive Division on the Westland section of the Railways, for the past 17 years, left this morning by express for Christchurch, where he will take a position on the Canterbury section. Hon. G. J. Anderson, Minister of Mines, has received an invitation from the Dunstan Miners’ Jubilee Memorial Committee ,to be present at the opening of the memorial gates, on Tuesday next. He left this morning by the express flor Christchurch, joining the train at Stillwater, after paying a visit of inspection to the power house at Dobson.
