BRITISH RAILWAYMEN’S WAGES
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, June 26. The “Daily Herald” understands that there is suggested a 5 per cent, cut in railway dividends, fees, salaries and wages. A conference beUyeen the representatives of the railway companies and the Railwaymen’s Trade Unions at London lasted two and a-half hours, and then adjourned sine die. It is understood that no conclusions v were reached. The company managers’ 'view was stated. The Union representatives promised to submit the position tn tlv ir executives. A further conference is likely to be held within a foi unight. AUSTRALIAN SHIPPING DISPUTE SYDNEY. June 26. The Marine Transport Group, of Unions appointed a dmiutation to interview Mr Bruc-e on Tuesday next, with a view to solving the shipping dispute. FRENCH POSTAL EMPLOYEES. PARIS, June 25. A number of postal employees who styuclp for increased wages invaded the head Post Office and drove out the nubl’c with fisticuffs, and then barricaded themselves inside. The Prefect of Police drove out the strikers without difficulty. LATER-. The postal employees have decided to rer-ume work.
