Mr “Rod”- White, of Cobden, left this morning for the North Island, to attend the funeral of his mother, Mrs J. White, who died yesterday at Ngaruawahia, at the age of 77 years.

An Auckland telegram announced the death of Mr Charles Langford, many years a city tailor, just in his hundredth year. He arrived in New Zealand seventy-five years ago with a detachment of the Royal Engineers. — Press Assn.

Prom Auckland he will proceed to Rotorua. Then hd visits .Hamilton, the Ruakura State Farm) the Waitonio caves, Te Kuiti and Wellington. Then he goes’ to Christchurch and Dunedin, and pcs•sibly Queenstown. He will leave Wellington towards the end of July for the United States. —Press Assn.

Mrs Annie Hill, of Brunnerton, died at the Greymoutli Hospital last evening, aged 66 years. Deceased, who was born in Ireland, had .resided at Brunner for 45 years. She had been in ill health for about two months. < Her husband, Mr William Hill, has been an inmate of the Grey Hospital for some time, and ’- she also leaves six daughters and one son. The interment will take place privately. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church at 9 a.in. to-morrow.
