RELIGIOUS RIOTS WIDESPREAD ' A SERIOUS MENACE. (Reuter.) DELHI, September 14The strained relations between the Hindus and Mohammedans are a serious menace to the present ■ day peace of India. l Within the past few weeks, serious riots, arising out of religious troubles, have occurred in Delhi, Nagpur,, Hyderabad, Poona, and Kohaf. Lucknow is now the danger zone, following on a rumour that a Brahmin boy had been forcibly converted to Islam. Rioting Occurred on Friday night and still continues. • As in the other places, troops have been called out. Already four persons have been killed and a large number injured. () TOWN BURNT AND LOOTED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) DELHI, September 13. As the outcome of Hindu-Moham-medan rioting at Kohat, the place has largely been reduced to ashes. Taking advantage of the position, neighbouring tribesmen, attracted by the prospect of loot, (entered and set fire to the town. Troops assisting the civil authorities repeatedly fired upon the rioters and the incendiaries. The rapid spread of the flames negatived all efforts to check the conflagration.
