KILLED BY CAR

A SYDNEY CRASH. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association/) SYDNEY, Sept. 14. At an early hour this morning, a motor at Annandale, driven at a furious pace, dashed into three pedestrians, killing Robert Walker and dangerously wounding two other men. The car, whose ownership is unknown, made off at full speed, without stopPUIS ‘ LATER.

The police secured the number and traced the car that caused this morning’s fatality. When found, it was stained with' blood. They arrested tlv driver, Victor Lindley, on a charge of the manslaughter of Walker. It is asserted that one of the passengers was thrown out by the force of the impact. It is believed that the driver picked up this man and drove away. Lindley later called at Petersham policei station and reported that ia passenger in a car he was driving had met with an accident. He said that he had taken him to the Lewisham hospital. The. car was examined and found to be damaged about the front. Lindley was questioned by the police and then arrested. A FATAL~COLLISION. HASTINGS, September 15. — Jack Rollo, 67, a former steeplechase rider and trainer, .seriously hurt through a motor colliding with the k'>r«e he was riding, on Wednesday night, died at the Napier Hospital.
