HARI HARI NOTES

HARI HARI, September 12
Mr. H. J. Bignell, Chairman of the Canterbury Education Board in company with some of the other members of the Board is visiting Hari Hari to view the , site for the new school. The factory has re-opened and is receiving supplies from its usual customers. Hari Hari was en fete last night on the occasion of the annual plain and fancy dress ball. The hall was packed visitors being present from all parts of the district. The prize winners were: Lady’s best fancy costume.— Miss Kate Adamson, “Gold Tipped Cigarette.” Lady’s most original costume. —Mrs. Peterson, “Mother Hubbard.” Men’s best fancy dress.—Mr. Ferguson, “Rajah,” and most original —Dick Diedricks, “Yes, we have no bananas.” Some of the other costumes noticed were: D. McMillan, “Good Luck”; V. Berry, “Spring”; S. Berry, “Baloons”; M. Hewer. “Spooney”; S. Paterson, “Rosebud”; A. Ford, “Pierotte”; W. Graham, “Registered Letter”; J. Graham, “Billiards”; M. Berry, “British Fleet”; K. Upjohn, “Lady’s Companion”; E. Nissen, Egyptian Princess”; Mrs. McKay, “Dolly Varden”; P. McMillan, “Scarecrow”; Mrs. Ferguson, “The Question.”
