In both instances the talk is exaggeration. Firpo is a rough, aggressive, natural lighting man, but he is not a super-human. It is reported that O’Rourke, the promoter of the Kilbane-Criqui fight, lost 50,000 dollars over the match. The gate receipts amounted to 90,000 dollars.
