ATTACK ON RANGER
ACCUSED CONVICTED. (Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, June 15. The Supreme Court continued the case of Herbert Holgate, Alfred. Glover, Leonard Grundy and Richard Daly, who were charged with attempting to murder William Thirwell Routledge at Kopaki on March 18; with assaulting him with intent to do grievous bodily harm; with doing him actual bodily harm ; and with assaulting him. The latter three charges were also preferred against them, in relation to James Courtney. The jury after a retirement of three hours returned a verdict of guilty of doing Routledge actual bodily harm, but disagreed regarding the Courtney charges. Sentence was deferred. It wag mentioned during the case ■’-•'t Courtney is claiming £5OO dam--mes in a civil action against the prisoners.
