ATHLETICS
AV right, winner of the Rotomanu Sheffield, has been re-handicapped t. syds in the Publicans’ Handicap, the Easter Sports. Competitors are again reminded that acceptances for the meeting close on Saturday next with the secretaries. Box 97, Greymouth. Mr Perkins will receive acceptances at his office during the day or on Saturday, and after 7 o’clock at the Young Men’s Club Rooms. Mr Fairbairn will be present at the Stillwater Sports on Saturday and will receive acceptances there. Relay race teams are to forward names of teams and colours in which runners will appear.
SCHOOL ENTRIES. In addition to the adult events at the Easter Sports, the public will have the pleasure of seeing some of the organised competitive school games, which have come into favour recently in our schools The various events have, an excellent entry, both in the boys’ and girls’ sections, the following teams having been nominated : —Secondary and Technical Schools Relay (teams of four boys): Hokitika. D.H.S., Greymoutli D.H.S. A and B, Reefton D.H.S., Greymouth Technical School A and B, Afarist Brothers’ School. Primary Relay Race (boys) : Greymoutli D.H.S. A and B. Reefton D.H.S., Hokitika D.H.S., Cobden A and B, Afarist Brothers’ School. Girls’ Relay Race (teams of 12) : Greymoutli Convent A, B C, D teams ; Greymouth D H.S. —A, B. C, D teams.: Cobden. Girls’ Overhead Ball (teams of 12) : Greymouth Convent A, B, C, D teams; Greymoutli D.H.S. A.B.C, D teams; Cobden. Girls’ Relay (teams of four), 300 yards iGreymouth D. A and B teams; Greymouth Convent A and B teams; Cobden A and B teams.
