(i'er Press Association.) SHUNTER’S DEATH. , MARION, This Day.—The shunter Mosley, who was injured while shunting yesterday, died at Wanganui Hospital this morning. THE INFLUENZA. WELLINGTON, This Day.— Between noon on February 10 th and noon on February 23rd,' 497 cases of influenza were notified, of which 9 were pneumonic and 7 severe. The corresponding four da vs of last year gave a total of 833, of which 10 were pneumonic and 10 severe. ORDER OF RECHABITES. PALMERSTON NORTH. This Day. —The conference of delegates to the District Council Meeting of the Independent Order of Eechabites is sitting at Palmerston North. WELLINGTON, This Day.— Several burglaries and attempted burglaries have been reported during the last few days. Thefts including goods to the value of £IOO from a taller’s shop, goods to lire value of £2OO from a millinery establishment have been recorded. In another case an un-, successful attempt to dynamite a safe in a butcher’s shop was made. AERIAL-' MAIL SERVICE. WELLINGTON, This Day.— The postal Department has made arrangements with the New Zealand Flying School at Auckland to pevfonn experimental • aerial mail services over a Mniitod period between - Auckland and. Thames, Auckland and Davgarviile, and. Auckland and Whangarei. There will be probably two or three trips weekly over each of the routes menLoned ; an aerial mail being despatched from Auckland to Thames to-day, the plane returning in the afternoon. It is proposed to make a second trip to and from the Thames on Thursday.
