Sir, —Will you allow me space to compliment the management upon the splendid production at the Opera House on Wednesday and Thursday evenings!. Ido not often get an opportunity of attending tb.3 picture theatre and speaking generally I am of the opinion that the standard of picture production ftias deteriorated. There is, as in current light literature, too much morbid sentimentalism about them. But occasionally a really excellent picture is shown, and "Womanhood" is of this class. I took half my family on Wednesday evening, and was so pleased that I sent the other half on Thursday. I should like to see the picture screened again. Everyone in Grey mouth ought to see it. Its vivid portrayal of the horrors of war, of such fervid patriotism, such industrial efficiency, such bravery of men and such heroism of women can do nothing but good. It filled me with pride and" confidence to reflect that a people so mighty, so capable, so determined and so noble are our Allies in this war. If this picture* could be sereenrl m Germany re would complete the panic in the Berlin Stock Exchange and hasten the complete surrender of the War Lords. Tt would certainly convince them that they micht as well hope to invade England by baling the English Channel drv as to inflict military defeat on a group of nations, including such a people as the Americans.
