——-——^ —~— Out from the scenes of achievement, Out from the haunts of their youth, Gathered the men of the 'sixties, Undaunted and gallant forsooth. They cam e from the scenes of young manhood, Where they battled ion Hood and on field; And their motto was Nil Despernudum, And they never, no never would yield. Their stock is now fighting in Flanders, 'Midst the best that this world ran give; And they never give place to another, Whether "ti.s to die or to live. Their record's writ large on the scroll of fame, And they're marching still onward to glory, . And spurred by the thought of thenname, Though their hc?ds may be bent low and hoary. The Tliu>s must he humbled and brought to their knees. And their war lord's proud boast brought to shame; And New Zealand is ranging her sons on the front, That glorious end to attain. The roll' call is lessening both of youth :>nd of age. Rut in no coward grave will they lay. Emblazoned rn victory's proud page are their name';. And Zealandia's heroes are they. —One of the Old Brigade. *
