FATAL COLLISION.

INQUEST P ROCEEI)ING S. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 17. The inquest on Ormond C. Cooper, who died on Saturday as the. result of an accident in Molesworth Street on the previous Wednesday, was concluded to-day. Frank Janies Griffin, the driver of the lorry concerned in the collision, said lie was on the right-hand side of the road, because the left side was too narrow to allow him to* pass the car safely. The ' night was dark, and he was carrying a light beneath the shaft on the right-hand side. Witness said he considered the driver of the taxi-car was travelling at an excessive speed. The' lorry was stopped close to the gutter. After the accident the lamp was missing. The Coroner (Mr. Riddell, S.M.j said in his opinion ' the verdict must be that deceased diedfrom injuries accidentally received. He added: “I do not think in the circumstances that any blame can be (attached to the driver of the motor--car, and so far as the driver of , the •lorry is concerned, I make no remark.”
