THE KELBURN RAID.

APPEALS UPHELD. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 17. His Honour Mr. Justice Mosking to-day gave judgment upholding the appeals of Mary Griffin and Winnie Olsen against their convictions under the War Regulations dealing with disorderly houses. His Honour said that both the appellants had a. regular income, sufficient to live comfortably on without seeking money by prostitution. There was no reasonable ground for drawing the inference that the unchastity which was committed was practised for hire. The appeal of Griffin was therefore allowed. The Crown did not offer any evidence in Olsen’s case, in which the appeal was also allowed. The Court ordered both prisoners to be discharged from custody.
