In spite of the boisterous night them was a very largo attendance at tho Tow ,ii Hall last night at the childrens fancy dre% bath Ihe hall had been very tastefully arranged for the occasion, and the many striking dresiles worn by the children, made a intuit pleasing pageant. Every character familiar in nursery loro was to he found fa Hie- motley gathering. The grand march was a- very pretty spectacle, and way greatly admiied By the large crowd of onlookers who assembled in the gallery. Excellent music was played by Mr. W. Williams and extras were played by Mr. 0. Heppel. A pretty sight was the confetti dance • and battle. Streamers of colored paper wore thrown to those in Hie gallery and were held by those below and the children marched undcroisith. The whdle ended in a mimic battle confetti taking the place of bombs 1 , and the youngsters showed that they came of good fighting stock and entered into tho combat with great, vigor. The supper was not the least important part of (lie night’s proceedings. and was done ample justice to. The young dancers then gave way to the adults, who took the floor for a couple of hours and enjoyed themselves- to I lie full.
