Owing to the War Regulations tho names or movements of certain vessels in port cannot be mentioned, Tho Kamo sailed last evening for Wellington, coal laden. The Kowhai will sail for Wellington when the sea moderates. She lakes a cargo of coal and timber. The Kini is waiting for the sea on the bar to moderate before sailing for Miramar with a cargo of coal. The Kararnu will sail for Lyttelton to-morrow morning, weather pcrmittii»g, with a cargo of coal and timber. The Mapourika is due from Wellington to-morrow morning, and sails on return at 5 p.m. The Rosamond sails for Nelson and Terakohe to-morrow, coal laden. The Kahika is expected to leave Dunedin to-morrow for Grey direct. The Regains is due to-morrow morning from Picton, via Westport, with a large cargo of chaff. After discharging same, she lords coal for New Plymouth. ’ H.M.S. Torch, which has been taken over by the New Zealand Government, is a vessel of 860 tons, built at Sheerness in 1894. Her principal dimensions are: Length 130 ft., breadth 32ft., and depth 11.5 ft. Her speed at the trials was 13 knots. The Hinemoa. which it is intended the Torch shall replace, is of 542 tons gross, built 41 years ago at Greenock, originally as ;f sailer. Her main dimensions are; Length 207 ft., breadth 25ft., and depth 15ft. Captain R. Sproule has signed off the Eunice and has taken command of the Mana, which was recently purchased by the New Zealand Refrigerating Company. His place has been taken by Captain A; J. Holm, Mr. C. W. Richardson, late purser of the Maori, lias resigned from the service of the Union Steam Ship Company, and will shortly go into camp.
