Mr J, K. Jeffries was an outward passenger bv the Otira express this morning. Miss N. MeAlister and Miss M. O'Flaheity left by tiie Otira express this morning on a visit to Christchurch. Rev. C. Jackson Methodist minister at Reefton, will remain in the district, his impending transfer having been rescinded. tween the buffers of a van and car at the Cire.ymonth station. At the last weekly lecture on rules etc., the Chairman (Air J. L. Morgan), ii\ the presence of a large gathering of railway staff, representing all branches, presented Mr Seguin with a package of "legal tender." amounting to £52, which had been collected by Mr Seguin's fellow-employees. Mr Morgan, in a short but impressive speech, voiced the sentiments of the whole railway staff when expressing their regret and sorrow for Mr Seguin, and added that it was

considered only right that their regard should take a practical form. So well liked was Mr Serruin by staff and public that, many outsiders had specially asked to be allowed to contribute. Mr Morgan spoke of the recipient's conscientiousness. liririsrhttiPss, and civility. Other speakers voiced, the same sentiments, and trusted Mr Seriiin would soon be bark to work with them once again. Quite a pleasant hour was then spent, several of those present contributing musical items.
