OPERATIONS IN FRANCE.
OFFICIAL REPORT. The High Commissioner reports from London, under date of July 4th, as follows : North of Arras the enemy 'attacked last night, in massed formation, our positions from the Angres-Ablain road to the north of the route Aix NouletteSouchez. The assailants were repulsed by enfilading fire and mitrailleuses, losing heavily. , , On the La Hay© front the Germans, after a violent bombardment, towards morning tried to attack the french trenches, but north of Regneville our enfilading fire did not permit the attack to debouch. Before day a battalion arrived near our entanglements, but was obliged to withdraw. Ivjtjmmd
