UNION FEDERATION
BONA FIDES DOUBTED. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION —CGt-YRIGHT.] SYDNEY, May 26. A federation of the unions has been definitely formed with a provisional council, with Hon. Mr. Hughes as President. It is proposed to present a united front to capitalists by means of the power of concerted., well considered action. A number of Unionists: are dubious of the bona fides of the moving spirits of the Federation. The Federation Conference decided that it was unable to make arrangements to send a delegate to the New Zealand Federation's Conference in July next. A resolution conveying fraternal greetings to the New Zealand Federation and hoping that the conference would be crowned with the best results for the workers, generally, was adopted. It was decided to set up a Provincial Council of twelve representatives of the leading unions.
