SALVATION HOME FIRE. [PIR PRK39 ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT.] BRISBANE, January 28. Mrs Nightingale, not Martingale, lies been remanded on a charge of murdering the three victims of the Taringa. fire. She protested her innocence and called the arresting constable a liar for saying that she told him something. She declared she escaped from the Tire by sliding down a l ail. She declaimed against the Salvation Army, and said that she would rather do six months in prison than go to an Army home, which was worse than prison. If they got half a donzen rat traps and killed some rats they would be doing some good.
The girl Den/er escaped safely but dashed back to the bedroom to recover property but was overcome by the flames.
Miss Wilson, who had an .inn broken and was badly injured in the face, was heroically assisting in the rescue.
