After the President had taken refuge, on the German gunboat fighting began in the streets, the revolutionary element wreaking vengeance on the town because they were unable to capture President Oreste. A crowd attempted to lynch individual policemen who were using revolvers and clubs and who wounded many rioters. WASHINGTON, January 28.
