The Government did not intend to demolish it and were going to preserve the historical associations for the people. He was unable to hold out much hope of a change of policy. N.S.W. POPULATION. SYDNEY, This Day.—The population of New South Wales in December was 1,693,374, an increase for the year of 55,376, which is a record.
