Received this day at 10.45 a.in. Complaints continue to be received from Presbyterian sources with reference to the condominium in the New Hebrides. It is stated that recruiting is practised with impunity and the sale of intoxicants is increasing. The punishments for offences against the purposes of the condominium are insufficiently severe.
The Federal Government promises to make representations to Britain regarding either buying out the French interests or securing the promise of an exchange of territory.
