BOMBAY, December 4
Their Majesties lunched at Government House and afterwards attended service at the Cathedral.
A fire, due to the fusing of a wire, ruined the Lieutenant Governor of the Punjaub’s camp at Delhi. Five of the main reception and dining room tents were destroyed.
Illuminations are the finest seen in Bombay. Queen .Victoria’s-white marble statue was beautifully lighted. The Viceroy has started for Delhi. Their Majesties attended a fete at the old Bombay exhibition. Twentyfive thousand children in costumes of red, gold and blue all waved flags and sang the national anthem in the English, Gujerati, Marachi and Urdu languages.
