KUMARA MAGISTRATE’S COURT
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22nd, 1011. The following cases were yesterday dealt with byMr. J. G. L Hewitt, S.M at the Kumara sitting of the Magis-trate’s-Court:—On the information of the police, W. Peters was charged until being drunk and disorderly at a social held in the Adelphi Hall on March 17th The constable having detailed the circumstances the Magistrate said the case was an usual one and he could not deal with it leniently. Accused was convicted and fined £1 without costs. Arthur Watson was charged by the police with being drunk in a public place. Defendant did not appear. Constable Ryan deposed that on the 13th March a prohibition order was taken out against the accused at the request of his mother, and he immediately left the Court and got the worse for liquor. On receiving the order lie used abusive language to the constable Constable Ryan stated that the accused was a fit case for an inebriate’s home, and asked that ho be committed to one for a term of two years. He quoted the sections of the Statute bearing on the subject. After the S.M. had given the case due consideration he said he would deal with him if brought before him again. Accused was convicted and fined £l.'

Pamment v. Mundy, for goods suppied amount £1 8s 3d—Adjourned till next Court day.
Pamment v .Crimmins, for amount of dishonoured promissory note and interest thereon, and repairs to bicycle, amount £1 17s; no notice to defend filed; Mr. Murdoch—Judgment for ammot claimed and costs.
