KUMARA WEDDING.
A quiet but very pretty wedding took place in the Anglican Church, Kumara, Rev. Mr Stephens being the officiating clergyman. The contracting parties were Miss Ruth Mclntosh late of Australia and Mr J. Dowling Forrest, second son of Mrs F. Austin of Greymouth. The bride, who looked a picture of happiness entered the Church on the arm of her brother-in-law (Mr Grigg), who gave her away. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Misses F. Fiebiver and Marjoi’y Grigg while Mr L. Zeigler acted as best man. The bride was smartly attired in a green costume with vieux rose hat. The bridesmaids wore white silk dresses with vieux rose hats. The bridegi’oom’s present to the bride was a gold tagged brooch set with pears, and to the bridesmaids a gold bangle and brooch. The happy couple and guests drove to Mr Grigg’s residence, Kumara Junction, where afternoon tea was partaken of. The happy couple left amidst showers of rice by the 6 p.m. train for Hokitika, where a short honeymoon will be spent. The presents were both numerous and costly including a handsome chair and clock from Mr Forrest’s fellow workers by whom he was much esteemed.
