FIRST FLIGHTS IN AUSTRALIA. [PER- PRESS' ASSOCIATION-—COPYRIGHT.j ’ MELBOURNE, March .18. Tile ferial flight in Australia was accomplished by Hotidim, a music hall net-former. He used a Vocsin biplane, weighing 1400 pounds, with a 68 . horse- power petrol" engine. The trial took place near "the "Diggers Rest” hotel. Hondini' made three ascents. In the first he covered a mile in a little over ono minute at a height of 40ft. In the second ho went up 100 ft and remained in the'air three minutes. In the third glif. he covered three miles in a little over four minutes. The machine descended gracefully and gently to the earth.
