The liand contest concluded yesterday, i lie results of 1 lit* competitions are:— Hass trombone.--Holdaway (lilenlieim) H3pts, JleiTningliam (Wanganui Garrison) 112, Boyd (Wanganui Garrison) 110. Tenor Tlorn. —Hansen (Nelson) 115, Hones (Wanganui Garrison) 111, Wims-ett (Nelson) 106. HI! Flat Bass.—-Hughes (Nelson Garrison) 116, Lang (Gisborne) 112, Spurdio (Wanganui City) 10-1. Trombone trios. Wanganui Garrison 110. Hlenheim 118. I’etone 101. The final test was played in the presence of a very large crowd. Wanganui scored 156 and Pelone 126, making their totals 386 and 326, Wanganui thus winning the championship Besson Shield, which now becomes their property.
In B Grade, Nelson and Gisborne tied with 130. Wanganui City was next with 116. Nelson therefore won the shield with a total of 370. Gisborne was next wifb 368 and Wanganui third with 352. Others finished as follows:—Blenheim 341, Wellington Tramway 33-1, Manaia 312, Eeild ing 311, Waitara 326, Cambridge 329 and Opnnake 286.
