PERSONAL NOTES.
Mr C. Weston, of Stillwater, who has not been in Greymouth for 25 years, was a visitor to town to-day.
Sister Kilgour, who has been on a visit to Greymouth, returns to Wellington by the s.s. Mapourika.
Mr. A. Kemp, District Agent for the A.M.P. Society, who has been on a well-earned holiday, has returned. Mr. Charles Young, formerly of C. Smith, Ltd., but now in business in Wanganoi on his own account, is afc present on a visit to Greymouth, renewing old acquaintances.
Dr. Rogers, Surgeon-Superintendent of the Totara Hospital, has tendered his resignation to the authorities. He severs his connection with the southern institution at the end of the year. The following passengers left for Christchurch yesterday:—Mrs. J. Glance and child ; Messrs L. Gooch, A. Fitzroy, W. Golding, J. Glace, R. Doull, E. J. Reid, C. White-Parsons, W. Davidson.
The following passengers arrived from Christchuch on Tuesday night:—■ Misses I. Waugh. B. Draper; Mescalines Stevens, Draper, Reardon; Messrs Reardon, L. T. James, P. F.
Hamilton, C. G. Young, Constable Stark, 11. Kelham, E. Warnes, G. H. Morrish, Alf Dickson, Joyce Tompkins J. Thompson. Mr. Alfred Dickson, sporting editor of the Canterbury Times arrived in Greymouth on Tuesday night, and having witnessed the trotting yesterday prepared the handicaps for Saturday's meeting, which appear elsewhere. Accompanied by Mr. A. C. Russell he paid a visit to Hokitika to-day and returns to Christchurch. overland to-morrow, his* duties necessitating his return at the earliest moment. Otherwise he has been eagerly urged to remain over Sunday as the Trotting and Boxing Clubs are both anxious that he should see more of the Coast than he has done.
