THE POULTRY SHOW.

The Greymouth Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Show concluded on Saturday with fairly satisfactory results the attendance during the whole of the day being confined chiefly to visitors from the country districts who took a manifest interest in the exhibits, the ladies particularly being pleased with the cooking competitions. In the evening all doubts were set at rest regarding the genuine quality of Mrs J. Robertson's prize wedding cake as Mrs Coates, the lady Mayoress, at the request of the Comitteo and in the presence of a large number of people cut the cake through the centre and having sampled it declared it to be excellent. Others who were thus privileged to taste declared that any bride would be proud to have such - an ornament at their Wedding feast. The art union was subsequently drawn with the following results : ' First prize No. 2470, L. S. Callaghan, Chrtstchureh. Second prize No. 1660; a ticket sold at the door. Third prize Ko. 1755, Mrs T. Carey, Greymouth. Fourth prize Ko. 1976, Mr B. McLean. Fifth prize No. 897, Mr Keilson, Runanga. Great credit is due to the members of the Committee, the lion, secretary (Mr C. McQueen) and the lion, treasurer (Mr W. E. Reynolds) for the prompt manner in which they dealt with all the details which go to make such a show successful.
