THE RECENT FLOODS.
[Bi Tr'Jr.QßAPH~’’bess Association.] TLMARU, July 10.Numerous minor washouts have been temporarily repaired, and the worst damage in the district through the eating away of the North band of the Waihao River had been got over by a temporary extension of the bridge. Most of the damaged line is soft, and the trains have to be hauled by light engines and taken slowly over the soft places. The late express from Dunedin was about an hour late here. The Dnntroon branch is badly damaged and there has been no traffic on it since Tuesday, and probably there will be none to-morrow. A storm culvert on Lake Wainona, at tin outlet of the Waihao and other streams, through the beach, has been earned away.
