REEFTON WESLEYAN BAZAAR

(Our Own Correspondent.) The bazaar at Reefton in connection with the new Wesleyan Church building fund has been the greatest attraction of the week. The attendance in spite of the inclement weather has been good, and the results all that could bo desired. The stalls, five in number, were presided over by— L—Pinafore and Apron Stall, Mesdames Roberts, Knight, Penrose and Watson. ll.—Cushions and Table Centres, Mrs White, Misses Membry and Wills. lll.—Mrs R. Wills, Misses Willi and Anderson. IV.—Plain Sewing, Mesdames Scantlebury, James and Wearne. V.—Refreshments, Mesdames Absalom and W. Eddy. Flowers, Misses Hore, Popo and Mooney. Young Men's Stall (fancy goods, groceries, pot plants, furniture, etc.), Messrs Nicholas, Willis, Watson, Pennaluna and Toye. Post office and produce stall, Messrs Topp and Anderson. The arrangement and display of goods, with the splendid decorations of greenery, flags, and lanterns, presented a fairy-like picture and the committee deserve very great praise for the splendid effect displayed. The Inangahua Brass Band rendered some excellent music outside and inside the hall, which was in itself an attraction. Several novelties were introduced each evening. The hat trimming, needle threading, and turnip peeling by the gentlemen caused great amusement, as did also the nail driving and whistling competitions by the ladies. The art museum and character reading also attracted a great number. Taken on the whole, the bazaar was a great success. The total proceeds amounted to over £143.
