[Br ILECTEIC TELEGEAPH.] (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, May 16. Allan HinchcliiFe, aged 28 vears, was found guilty tit the Supreme* Court !oday of the attempted murder of Mabel Clark on February sth, and also of attempted criminal assault. The fads of the case were (hat 11 inch chile, who had been out of work, was befriended by a man named Chirke, and taken into Ms home as a. guest. While staying at Clarke's- Hinchcliffe became Ultimate with one of Clarke's daughters. The mother, in the course of time, suspected that something was wrong with her daughter and asked her to see a doctor. This the girl refused to do. She (old Hinchcliffe of her mother's suspicions and he, saying we will die together, administered a conite to the girl and took a dose himself. Both were in great peril. Afterwards the girl gave birth to a child. Mr Justice Cooper sentenced Hinchclilfe to two years' imprisonment for attempted murder, and three months for attempted suicide.
