GARDEN PARTY

METHODISTS AT "TI-IE PINES” Preliminary to the harvest festival of the Feilding Methodist Church, which will be celebrated on Sunday and Monday next, a very successful garden party, organised by the Ladies’ Guild, was held, on the verandah and grounds of Mr. C. F. Johnston, "The Pines.” The many visitors were charmed with the beautiful display of shrubs and llowers, which were looking at. their best. Facing the afternoon tea verandah beds of asters and salvia lent colour and gaiety to the scene. The various stalls were well patronised. Tennis, croquet anq golf provided interest an,! amusement. The weather was all that could lie desired. The Rev. E. O. Blamires, in thanking all who were assisting, made special mention of the owner of the garden, whose generosity was greatly appreciated, Mr. Tobeck and the Misses Burns, whose preliminary work lia ( i so greatly assisted the Ladies’ Guild.

A very hearty round of applause expressed the thanks of the* large company assembled to these and the organisers, stallholders, etc
