AN OTHER R EVE LATION POLICE AFFECTED (Aust. ind N.Z. Cabiei Paris. February 27 Tiie Staviskv Commission lias ascertained that the police were aware of the details of the Bayonne swindle before tbe Credit Municipale was launched. An inspector submitted a report in 1931, action on which would have pereluded the later deyelopments.
M. Pressard, the head of the Seine prosecutor’s office, and a brother-in-law of M. Chautemps, is held responsible for the delays and negligence. He has been deprived of liis recent judgeship, and will not be appointed until he answers necessary questions.
